I started this blog because I hate being forced to smell other people's perfume. I really object to having my personal space invaded by toxic fumes and it happens all the time. If I want to avoid this I have to stay in my house with my windows closed.
Because it bothers me so much, I started to research perfume and scented personal/household products. I'm really sorry to say that, for the most part, the companies that make these products do not give a rat's ass about you or your health. Some manufactures use ingredients that are known carcinogens. That's right, KNOWN to cause cancer.
I admit my original complaint about perfume alone would have been enough for a pretty hefty blog. But I couldn't ignore the other data I was finding. It's just too important and just too pervasive. It isn't the fragrances by themselves. Yes, they are toxic. And then there are all the other toxic ingredients in cosmetics, personal care products and household products like cleansers, fabric softeners and detergents. Oh, and I have not even started on products aimed at children and babies. That's a whole other story. If you have kids, do them a favor and look up products on SkinDeep
